Married at First Sight’s Jephte and Shawniece share an embrace and, inset, their first kiss

Married at First Sight couple Jephte Pierre and Shawniece Jackson may have had a rocky start to their relationship, but they make huge strides tonight — sharing their first kiss since getting married!

In our exclusive clip, the pair also enjoy a tender embrace after climbing to the top of a waterfall while on a romantic honeymoon. Both appear relaxed in each other’s company, after Jephte’s initial hesitation at letting his guard down last week.

In an interview with producers, a beaming Shawniece reveals how Jephte was initially scared to go up the waterfall but overcame his fears. And she grins as she reveals how happy she is at how things are panning out between the pair.

Recalling the moment, Shawniece says: “I’m standing at the top of the waterfall and I’m like ‘I just did this with this man and he’s my husband’ — like, this is a great feeling!

“I’ve never done something like this before and he did it with me even though he was afraid and complained the whole time. He still did it with me, and that’s what counts. And I gave him a kiss, so that was our first kiss since our wedding!”

Afterwards, Jephte reveals how he was hoping that Shawniece was going to stop part way up the waterfall so they didn’t have to go the whole way, but tells her: “I wasn’t going to let you go by yourself.”

In an emotional moment he then reaches out and takes Shawniece in his arms, with both of them smiling and appearing to be falling for each other. Shawnice — who stunned Jephte by giving him a lap dance at their wedding — laughs as she tells producers: “This is great, we’re getting somewhere!”

Married at First Sight airs Tuesdays at 9/8c on Lifetime.
