The latest Pit Bulls and Parolees is an emotional ride as we see star Earl Moffett come out of rehab and trying to get sober with the help of his canine friends.
Earl has just spent 90 days in rehab and is now on the path to sobriety, but is taking it one day at a time.
And that means filling his life with other activities to fill the space that being on the wagon has brought.
Watch the clip below as he spends time with pit-bulls Tiwi and Pee Wee at home, and talks about the amazing progress he’s making thanks to the Villalobos Rescue Center, outside New Orleans, LA, which unites parolees and abandoned pit-bulls in a bid to help them both.
He says: “I was in rehab for 90 days. It almost felt like I was back in prison, but rehab felt even harder.
“I’m not proud of this, but I was like literally getting high all day — at work, at home, just all damn day.
“The road to recovery? Man, this some hard s**t. You do learn like you’re life going to change. You’re not doing the same s**t you were doing, so you need to find things to replace that.
“Just doing the things around the house, cleaning up, keeping everything straight.
“If you happen to see me, most of the time it’s just me, Tiki, Peewee on the couch…movie or two.
“So my life is pretty boring right now. But you’re going to be sober, one day at a time. Get up in the morning, and let me stay sober today.”
Also on the latest Pit Bulls and Parolees, a couple in New York are looking to adopt a pit-bull that’s not afraid of living in the big city.
And Lizzy rescues a dog after a shocking encounter with the person who abandoned it.
Pit Bulls and Parolees airs Saturdays at 9/8c on Animal Planet.
