Tonight’s season finale of Hacking the Wild on Science Channel sees digital survival expert Andy Quitmeyer create an EARTHQUAKE machine to get rescued from an isolated spot in Death Valley.

Watch the clip below as he cobbles together a contraption to create massive vibrations using old gold-mining equipment.

He then uses them to spell out SOS in vibrations in a bid to have the message picked up by scientists tracking earthquake tremors.

With the information from their sensors they will then be able to triangulate his location and come and rescue him.

During this episode of Hacking the Wild, created by LA-based independent production studio AMPLE, Andy also comes up with various ingenious ways to get rescued using sticks, sensors and a fan from his laptop.

Hacking The Wild airs tonight, Wednesday March 22, at 10PM ET/PT on Science Channel.
