On the latest episode of Cartel Crew, Dayana Castellanos told her story and viewers learned that she isn’t a child of a cartel member, she was one and her husband is still serving time.

Dayana wasn’t born into cartel life and when she met her husband, he wasn’t in a cartel either. But when his marijuana grow operation really started to take off, the two soon found themselves as one of the top sellers in South Florida due to connections with the cartel.

On the latest episode of Cartel Crew, 37-year-old Dayana Castellanos tells the story of how she fell into the cartel life and how it almost cost her her family.

When Kat (Tatu Baby) tells Dayana that she’s worried about telling her son Dinero that his dad had to move back to the halfway house, Dayana tells her not to be surprised if he already knows.

From my experience, it’s a lot easier to hide something from the cops than your kids.

Dayana’s cartel connection is through the Miami Narco Ring, where she and her husband became major marijuana distributors before getting busted with both sent to prison.

She did two years in prison before getting released and now that she’s free, Dayana is trying to stay out of trouble and build a new life for herself and her four children.

Dayana explained to Kat that her daughter was very aware of what was going on, telling her mother that she saw what was going on in the garage and she also knew about all the money that was hidden in their home.

She explained that initially Dayana’s husband didn’t want her involved in his drug business but she was eager to help and to prove her worth.

When they did finally get caught, Alexander ended up getting 22 years in prison. He wanted Dayana to cop a deal and stay out with the kids but she refused and ended up also serving two years behind bars.

Cartel Crew airs on Mondays at 9/8c on VH1.
