Catfish: The TV Show is back with two episodes tonight, the first being the story of Shakinah and her love interest, Chris. From the preview alone, it sounds like Shakinah wants to meet the man who she has been talking to and even though MTV tried to edit Kamie Crawford when she said the name of the man, it’s quite possible that she’s talking about Chris Brown.
Even in the episode description, it’s revealed that Shakinah thinks she’s talking to a huge pop star. In the preview released by MTV, Nev gets the message that Chris will never do the show, and he will never go on television. It sounds like the person behind the profile is determined to keep the lie alive.

It’s interesting that Shakinah is the one who reached out to Chris on social media, telling him that she loved his music. During the previews, it’s uncertain whether she messaged the right page or if she reached a random fan page and now she’s getting catfished.
However, Nev and Kamie quickly learn that perhaps Shakinah is doing too much to make it work and she’s not getting enough back from Chris.

Even though Chris doesn’t want to get involved with the show and reveal his true identity, they do end up going to a house where Shakinah may meet someone. Based on her reaction, it sounds like she’s surprised by who is it.
Of course, this isn’t the first time that someone has met a celebrity on the show, but she sounds more like she actually knows the person behind the profile.

It will be interesting to see if Shakinah will find her prince charming in Chris, the pop star, or will she be disappointed to learn that she has been used and lied to.
