It wasn’t too long ago that Cardi B was just another rising star and now, she’ll help find the next one as a judge and executive producer on Rhythm + Flow. The new hip hop competition is coming to Netflix in 2019 featuring Cardi B, Chance the Rapper and T.I. as judges and executive producers.

The premise is that Cardi B, T.I. and Chance the Rapper would be the main judges who will be joined by other industry heavy hitters in the search for the next big hip hop talent.

Rhythm + Flow will be 10 hour long episodes where Cardi and crew will travel to several cities in search of their star. They will be stopping in many major metro areas including New York City, Atlanta, and Chicago, each of the judges’ hometowns.

As the Rhythm + Flow team visits each city, hip hop artists from each prospective city will join them on the judge’s panel.

In addition to Cardi B, T.I. and Chance the Rapper, Jesse Collins is executive producing the series for Jesse Collins Entertainment. John Legend, Mike Jackson, and Ty Stiklorius for Get Lifted, Jeff Gaspin for Gaspin Media, Nikki Boella, and Jeff Pollack are all listed as executive producers.

This upcoming series is definitely a deviation for Netflix, which has previously been known for movies and scripted series. However, it’s not surprising that they’re branching out into unscripted, reality TV as it is very popular and can be quite lucrative.

Those interested in auditioning to become the next big hip hop star can visit the Rhythm + Flow website for additional information.

Rhythm + Flow will run in Fall 2019.
