On tonight’s episode of Teen Mom OG, viewers will get a glimpse into the co-parenting relationship between Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston. Johnston, who will appear on the show alongside his wife Sunny, will be on tonight’s episode as Bristol allows the couple to take Tripp back to Alaska.
But who is this man who made headlines a few years ago as a teen dad? Levi was born Levi Keith Johnson on May 3, 1990, in Alaska to Sherry and Keith. Like many in Alaska, Levi enjoyed the outdoors as a child, learning how to hunt at an early age. That’s still something he does today, as seen on his social media accounts.
His relationship with Bristol started back in high school. The two met back in 2005, but it wasn’t until 2008 that the relationship became famous.
It was here that she became pregnant, just as Bristol’s mother, Sarah Palin, was running as VP in John McCain’s presidential campaign. Even though they broke up a few times, they always tried to make it work for their son, Tripp.
Johnston struggled academically, however, and dropped out of school his senior year to work as an apprentice electrician in the Alaskan oil fields. According to Biography, Levi’s mother struggled with a prescription drug problem, and both parents struggled financially.
He later moved in with the Palins. The two ended up getting engaged, and Levi’s mother continued to spiral, getting caught dealing OxyContin.
Levi Johnston’s drama with Sarah Palin would only escalate.
He would later reveal to Vanity Fair that the campaign had ruined their lives and that Sarah had proposed that they place Tripp up for adoption, keeping both the pregnancy and the child a secret. He opened up about his sex life on Tyra Banks, revealing that while abstinence is a good idea, it’s not something that would always work for teenagers.

Levi Johnston and Bristol Palin would give it another shot in 2010, getting engaged for the second time. However, just three weeks later, they would end their second engagement.
In 2012, Johnston married Sunny Oglesby, who lists herself as a real-estate agent on her social media account. Levi appears to be working as an electrician again.
A month before they got married, they had their first daughter, Breeze Beretta Johnston, was born. In 2015, a second daughter, Indy Rae Johnston, joined the family.
On Instagram, Sunny recently shared a post that she missed being pregnant. She also revealed that Levi and her daughters have been obsessing over having another child.
It was also Sunny who revealed that they would be filming Teen Mom OG. When fans asked if they would be joining as official cast members, she replied no. She also added that she doesn’t fit the profile, revealing, “Never been a teen mom. Hubby was a teen dad though.”
Even though Levi may not have gained the Palin family’s approval after splitting from Bristol, it sounds like he has a hard time getting away from the family.
Levi Johnston was sued for $12,892.50 by Alaska-based attorney Darryl Thompson over the work he performed on Johnston’s behalf during Palin and Johnston’s custody case over Tripp. In addition, Johnston revealed in 2016 that he had spent approximately $100,000 in lawyer fees. Levi and Bristol had previously fought over Tripp in a custody battle with
Palin claiming he hadn’t paid any child support for Tripp. At present time, she has full custody where he gets visitation with his son. In addition to Tripp, Bristol has two daughters with her ex-husband, Dakota Meyer.
