In a first for Paranormal Lockdown duo Nick Groff and Katrina Weidman tonight, the pair incite responses from restless spirits using haunted artifacts — including a dybbuk box.

The pair use the objects during their 72-hour lockdown at the notoriously haunted Scutt Mansion in Joliet, Illinois.

The property, also known as Barb Villa, is said to contain a curse which kills anybody who dares to live inside it.

Nick and Katrina are called in by the Magosky family, who say spirits in the building caused the deaths of their son and father.

But during their time inside the property, the Paranormal Lockdown team elicit responses from spirits they never even meant to contact.

The episode sees the pair use haunted objects brought in by collectors Dana and Greg Newkirk of Planet Weird and the Traveling Museum of the Paranormal & Occult — including the dybbuk box.

A dybbuk box is a cabinet said to be inhabited by a dybbuk — a restless and generally malicious spirit — meaning Greg advises Nick and Katrina not to open it.

He says: “It will try and trick you into opening it, but whatever you do fight any urge to do so.”

It only takes moments after the box is taken out of its locked storage case before Nick senses someone walking around the room they’re in…

Paranormal Lockdown airs Fridays at 9/8c on TLC.
