After last night’s episode of The Masked Singer, viewers are starting to guess that perhaps Ricki Lake is the celebrity behind the raven’s mask. Many of the clues appear to fit, but the judges are having a hard time putting their finger on it.

They are yet to guess Ricki Lake, but they did touch upon the raven’s clues suggesting that she was a talk show host, and that she had always listened to other people’s stories.

Ricki Lake did have her own talk show, which ran from 1992 to 2004. It was a daytime television talk show that focused on sensationalized topics, such as people admitting to family members that they were drag queens, cheating, or wanted to move on with their lives. It was simply called Ricki Lake, and later The Ricky Lake Show.

The second clue to come from the second episode was her tragic loss. The raven revealed that she had lost her beloved and this was the time to find beauty in the darkness. She called herself the phoenix rising from the ashes.

In 2017, Ricki Lake’s ex-husband, Christian Evans, committed suicide. She she later opened up about him suffering bipolar disorder.

The raven’s final statement during her second week of The Masked Singer was, “Don’t cry baby, this one is for you.” In 1990, Ricki starred in the movie Cry-Baby, where she played Pepper Walker.

During last night’s episode, viewers also learned that she came from a small town, the year 1968 was displayed, and she talked about crying tears into the Hudson River.

All of these clues make sense, as Ricki Lake was born in Hastings-on-Hudson, a little town in New York State that’s located right on the Hudson River. She was born on September 21, 1968. Hastings-on-Hudson is a very small town, as the population is less than 10,000 people.

Lots of signs are pointing to Ricki Lake being the singer, and many fans are in agreement that she’s behind the mask.
