Army Wives star Kim Delaney joins cast of NBC’s Chicago Fire

Kim Delaney is set to join the cast of NBC’s Chicago Fire, where she will play the mother of Kelly Severide.

Delaney’s character Jennifer Sheridan is a former party girl who is now on the straight path, attending church and apt to quote a few scriptures as well. She’s also fought hard to move on from her past life and complicated divorce from ex-husband Benny.

The Philadelphia born actress most recently starred in Murder in the First as Dr. Nancy Redmun, To Appomattox as Mary Todd Lincoln and also had a recurring role in Army Wives as Claudia Joy Holden.

She joins a cast that includes her on-screen son Kelly played by Taylor Kinney, Jesse Spencer as Matthew Casey, Monica Raymund as  Gabriela Dawson and Yuri Sardarov as  Brian Zvonecek.

 Chicago Fire has been running since 2012 and follows the lives of the Firehouse 51 crew and their families as they struggle to keep the people of the city safe.
