Ami and Billy Brown from Alaskan Bush People have both told how their strong faith is helping them deal with her cancer fight.
Ami was diagnosed with stage 3b lung cancer at the start of the latest season, with it now said to be as bad as stage 4.
The couple and several of their kids were seen in the season finale taking a road-trip to see their potential permanent new home in Colorado.
But the family are still currently in California where Ami is undergoing treatment at UCLA.
She and Billy both opened up about her cancer fight in recent interviews — with both referring to their faith and how it was helping them deal with their ordeal.
Ami told People how it was giving her hope. Asked whether she would spend a lot of time worrying about the worst case scenario, she said: “Worrying about it only makes it worse. There is hope and that hope is having faith in God.
“You can’t give up. I tell people be happy. Just be happy. It’s a choice. Things can be hard and you just want to curl up but you have to shine.”
Meanwhile, Billy said in a separate interview that what they were going through had made their faith stronger than it had ever been, and also told how it was giving them hope.
It came after he was asked about how the couple’s seven children — Matt, Bam Bam, Bear, Gabe, Noah, Snowbird and Rain — were coping with their mother’s illness.
He said: “Some of them don’t want to admit that she’s so bad. They’re all trying to get through it as best they can but no one knows what to do. I do what I can.
“This is really hard but this is also the strongest our faith has ever been. Our faith is giving us hope.”
