Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson, who plays Kanan in Power, talks about what to expect in Season 3

50 Cent has promised that the third season of STARZ’ hit show Power will make nail-biting viewing.

The rapper and entrepreneur plays Kanan in the series — which returns to our screens on July 17 for ten episodes — and is also one of its executive producers.

50 Cent, real name Curtis Jackson, said: “It’s pure excitement. Expect to be at the edge of your seat.”

He is one of several of the show’s stars and crew to sing its praises in a short new promo clip from the launch red carpet event. As Luis Ramos, who plays Carlos “Vibora” Ruiz, says: “The strength of Power is its cast.”

Lucy Walters, who plays Holly, added that it was hardly surprising that the show had attracted such a breadth of talent.

She said: “They’re all such juicy, juicy good roles.”

Power first premiered back in June 2014 and was renewed for its third season last year.

It has been massively positively reviewed by critics, getting a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes for its second season with an average 7.8/10 from reviewers.

The story centers around NYC club owner James ‘Ghost’ St. Patrick, played by Omari Hardwick, who has a double life a Mr Big in the city’s drug world.

Watch the trailer for Season 3 below.

Power premieres Sunday July 17 on STARZ.
