Yael Stone: Who is actress behind Geoffrey Rush misconduct allegations?

Actress Yael Stone has accused Geoffrey Rush of inappropriate behavior during the 2010 theater production of The Diary of a Madman.

She claims that he held a mirror above her as she showered, was naked in front of her, and touched her in unwanted and sensual ways.

But who is Stone? The actress is best known for playing Lorna Morello on Orange Is The New Black, as well as roles in Spirited, Deep Water and Childhood’s End. She also filmed Picnic at Hanging Rock, a television mini-series from 2018, and played Beth on High Maintenance for three episodes that aired in both 2016 and 2018.

The Wilde Wedding, Falling, Jailbirds, All Saints, West, and The Farm are also on her resume. Me Myself I from 1999 was her first screen project, in which sh played the character of Stacy.

Based on her Instagram, Orange Is The New Black appears to be a huge part of her professional life.

Stone is Australian but now lives in New York City. She’s a graduate of NIDA — the National Institute of Dramatic Art — and her career has seen her work with some of Australia’s best storytellers. It was early on that she got to work with Rush on Diary of a Madman, the play that is now hitting the headlines.

As well as her on-screen roles, Stone is also the co-founder of The Cannery, an experimental theater collective in Bushwick, Brooklyn.

Yael is the youngest of three children with an older brother, Jake, and an older sister, Elana. She’s born to a nurse and an architect.

Yael was married to Dan Spielman from August 2012 until 2016. In 2017, she started dating Jack Manning Bancroft, and in May 2018, she gave birth to her daughter, Pemau Stone Bancroft. According to Now To Love, Stone had planned an at-home birth but ended up with a c-section birth at the hospital.

She has previously used Instagram to talk about the #MeToo movement.

Rush has denied the allegations against him.
