Meghan Markle is pregnant! The news broke this morning after the official Kensington Royal social media accounts revealed that Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expecting their first child together. The accounts also revealed that Meghan’s due date falls in the spring of 2019.

A source told PEOPLE magazine that Meghan has already had her 12-week scan and that she’s feeling well. If she’s already had her scan, we can estimate when her due date is.

According to an online pregnancy calculator, the former Suits star would hit the 40-week mark in her pregnancy on April 21 if she had her 12-week scan a week ago, on October 8th. If she had the 12-week scan today, her due date would be on the 28th of April. However, the 40th week of pregnancy doesn’t always mean that this is exactly when the baby will be born.

Once the pregnancy hits the 37th week, the baby is technically full term. If the Duchess had her 12-week scan last Monday, she would be considered full term at 37 weeks on March 31. But since first-time moms do tend to go over their due date, her 41-week mark is on April 27, whereas 42 weeks would be on May 5th. At that point, doctors would likely suggest that she be induced.

Meghan Markle’s pregnancy announcement was not a suprise to many royal family fans. After their wedding on May 19, it was expected that they would start a family soon as they had both expressed a desire to do so.

Their child will be a cousin to Prince William and Kate Middleton’s three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and little Prince Louis, who is just 6 months old.

The couple are currently in Australia for their first royal tour together after getting married. They landed in Sydney early this morning. One can imagine they will get plenty of questions about the pregnancy, as the news broke after they touched down. Their trip will include official visits to Australia, Fiji, Tonga, and New Zealand.

Meghan and Harry started dating in July 2016 after meeting on a blind date. The two announced they were a couple in October 2016 after being spotted together. They initially had a long-distance relationship with Meghan filming Suits in Toronto, and Harry staying in London. They now reside at Kensington Palace.
