Kate Middleton and her husband, Prince William, have charitable causes they care deeply about as they go about their royal duties.
They often visit places one of their charities helps, such as a recent visit with farmers Prince William undertook without Kate, showcasing people’s needs as they go about their lives.
Kate frequently raises awareness about young children, their education needs, and different cancer charities, highlighting various needs.
When Kate’s glamorous outfit or jewelry outshines the reason for the public appearance, the visit fails to yield the desired results and instead becomes about the clothing.
Word got out that Kensington Palace would stop reporting on Kate’s outfits so that the focus could again be on her charitable works, causing some controversy over the statement.
The Times reported that an insider said, “There is an absolute feeling that it is not about what the princess is wearing. She wants the focus to be on the really important issues, the people, and the causes she is spotlighting.”
A new statement is released defending Kate Middleton
Anyone reading that statement from Kensington Palace could think the princess sent the directive to stop reporting on Kate’s wardrobe. Still, according to a new statement from the Palace, they would be wrong.
The original statement was unclear, and Kensington Palace issued a rare new statement clarifying the matter.
The Express reports a palace spokesperson stated, “Over the last week, I have received numerous questions about a story regarding The Princess of Wales’s clothing and how Kensington Palace shares information about her outfits.”
The same spokesperson continued, “To clarify, the comments that appeared in the article were from me, not The Princess of Wales. The comments that were reported should not be directly attributed to The Princess of Wales.”
The spokesperson said that while Kate will always be stylish, the focus should be on the substance of the event.
The new statement argues that reports on Kate’s activities should be about the event, not the glamour she brings everywhere she goes.
While Kensington Palace will stop reporting on the clothing that Kate wears, they wanted to make clear that Kate did not speak out on the matter, and her true feelings on the matter are unknown.
Prince William meets with some significant winners
Prince William recently met with the five Blue Peter Earthshot Prize winners. These five winners are young people who came up with ideas to help save the planet.
Windsor Castle was the event’s location, and the winners traveled to accept their award from Prince William.
If the focus of the activity were the beard that Prince William continues to sport, then the message about the environment would be lost.
Prince William spent time with the winners, making eco-friendly birdfeeders afterward. The Instagram post shared above contains a video of them making the birdfeeders.
