Gretchen Rossi has been open about her journey to become a mom. She starred on The Real Housewives of Orange County a few years back and since then, she has been working at building her own family. On Season 8, Rossi became engaged to Slade Smiley and the two remain together five years later.
On Monday, Gretchen Rossi announced she was expecting her first child with her long-time boyfriend, Slade Smiley. They had been undergoing IVF (in-vitro fertilization) for a few years now since Rossi really wanted to become a mom.
When is Gretchen Rossi due?
During an appearance on The Doctors, Gretchen Rossi revealed that she was pregnant with her first child.
She talked about the IVF process working seven weeks ago, leading to speculation that she is roughly that far along in her pregnancy. If that is the case, Gretchen and Slade Slimey will be welcoming their little baby boy or girl in the middle of July. An official due has not been confirmed but a July baby is a very safe bet.
IVF was difficult for Gretchen Rossi
While talking about her journey, Gretchen Rossi revealed that during her first attempt at IVF, she lost 14 embryos. This has been a very tough journey for the RHOC star, especially because she has been trying to conceive for several years.
Slade Smiley revealed it was hard to watch her suffer. Seeing Gretchen do the injections and deal with the news that their pregnancies didn’t take was hard on him as well. He has two children from a previous relationship and watching his love struggle was hard.
Now, the couple will be welcoming their first child together in 2019. Gretchen Rossi and Slade Smiley are looking forward to their pregnancy journey and those who have followed her since she starred on RHOC can’t wait to follow along as well.
The Real Housewives of Orange County is over for the season but Season 14 is expected to air sometime in 2019.
