Gina Kirschenheiter and her husband, Matt, have been a hot topic of conversation among The Real Housewives of Orange County viewers. The revelation that the two were getting a divorce early on in the season shocked her co-stars and caused a little bit of tension between them.
Matt Kirschenheiter was never filmed on The Real Housewives of Orange County. At first, it was assumed that his job kept him too busy to film, but it also looks like his employer wasn’t okay with him filming the show.
Emily Simpson is the only cast member who has met Matt Kirschenheiter according to The Daily Dish. Gina opened up about her current situation and revealed that out of all of the housewives, Emily was the only one to meet him. It appears they have fun together, teasing one another.
The root of the divorce was never really discussed in detail. The Real Housewives of Orange County viewers blamed Matt’s job, though Gina denies that. Kirschenheiter has said over and over again that the two just grew apart and are working on a co-parenting relationship as friends. There didn’t appear to be bad blood between Gina and Matt at all.
On The Real Housewives of Orange County, the ladies were very harsh on Gina when it came to Matt. Many of them (Vicki Gunvalson, Shannon Beador, and even Kelly Dodd) pressured her to try and make things work with him. With their experience in the area of divorce, some of it was compassion, but at times, it was clear that some bitterness was coming through.
At this point, things may be getting a little more complicated with the divorce between Gina and Matt Kirschenheiter. According to The Blast, The Real Housewives of Orange County star is seeking spousal support. There were reports that the divorce was supposed to be finalized earlier this month and now, there are a few snags.
Since Gina filed for divorce back in April, the two have been sharing a lot of family time. Kirschenheiter has been documenting their fun on social media. Things should be wrapping up soon and then Matt Kirschenheiter will no longer be Gina’s husband and a topic of contention among the ladies.
