"Sarah, Duchess of York" (born "Sarah Margaret Ferguson", 15 October 1959) is the former wife of Prince Andrew, Duke of York, fourth in line to the British throne. She is a former member of the British Royal Family and the mother of Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, who are respectively fifth and sixth in line to the British throne. Sarah is indeed a survivor. Having been living in London at the time of her marriage, and also being her age mate,(Idogged class and watched the wedding when i was at university in Guildford), I followed her life through her marriage and the trauma of her sister in marrage and friend Diana. This woman is such a fountain of hope to all women. I came back home to Africa in 1996 when her marriage ended. It's truly refreshing to read about her success story. Pity i cant get her books or how she managed to deal with her weight prob....I still remember that defensive answer on TV of..' i dont care what people say about my weight and my dressing, when i wake up in the morning, i dress for Andrew' Oh, that was so heart rending! Sarah comes from aristocracy with royal Stuart ancestry. On her father's side, Sarah is a descendant of King Charles II of England from two of his illegitimate sons Charles Lennox, 1st Duke of Richmond and James Scott, 1st Duke of Monmouth. She is a great-great-granddaughter of William Montagu-Douglas-Scott, 6th Duke of Buccleuch and a great-granddaughter of Mervyn Wingfield, 8th Viscount Powerscourt. Her grandmother was Lady Marian Louisa Montagu-Douglas-Scott a first cousin of Lady Alice Christabel Montagu-Douglas-Scott, who became after her marriage with Prince Henry, Duke of Gloucester, Princess Alice, Duchess of Gloucester, an aunt of Queen Elizabeth
