This episode of Project Runway: Fashion Startup features a fashion website aiming to provide a safe and trend setting environment for students to sell their old clothes online.

Alexandra Shadrow will be pitching her fashion website UNItiques to the investors on tonight’s show.

Having felt a bit short changed when she tried to sell old clothes at consignment stores and being less than keen on putting her details on Craigslist, she decided to take matters into her own hands.

Starting with a simple Facebook page where she could sell her old clothes to fellow students, she expanded to a website that now has over 12,000 members on around 500 different college campuses.

The site boasts that members have earned over $180,000 through the sale of their clothes, with the site being free to use.  Fashion trends are curated by editors, sales events are held on campuses and UNItiques also puts on its own fashion shows –  all things that makes this more than just another buy/sell.

Also on tonight’s show an investor is left teary eyed after one pitch…
