However, some were upset that only Ciri (Freya Allan) was featured and there was no sight of Geralt of Rivia (Henry Cavill).
Now, that has been righted and Netflix has released another trailer featuring the Witcher himself.
Season 2 trailer for The Witcher features Geralt of Rivia
Using the caption, “What does destiny have in store of Geralt of Rivia in Season 2? Here’s a Clue,” Netflix’s official Twitter account for The Witcher shared the short clip that rushed through a lot of information in very quick succession.
Opening with Geralt inside a candle-lit building, the teaser quickly changes and gives viewers a flurry of information that is very hard to decipher on just a single watch-through as there are several key snippets of information included in the clip.
Season 2 of The Witcher will see Geralt returning to Kaer Morhen where he trained to become a witcher. He will take Ciri there for training as well, so it comes a no surprise that viewers get to see some of this location here.
“Are you ready?” Geralt asks at one point, potentially speaking to Ciri about their arrival at Kaer Morhen.
In addition to this, plenty of weapons are shown and, at one point, Geralt appears to be under the influence of a potion.
Several snippets of runes are shown, which will likely keep fans busy for a while as they attempt to decipher them.
A person is also shown in chains and, as Comic Book speculates, this might actually be Yennefer after her capture at the Battle of Sodden which occurred in Season 1 of The Witcher.
The teaser ends with the appearance of a red skull and a very brief flash of Geralt’s face before the title logo is shown.
Will a trailer featuring Yennefer drop next?
With two trailers now released that focus solely on a main character, the potential is there for a third trailer to drop featuring Yennefer of Vengerberg (Anya Chalotra).
The first clip dropped roughly a week ago, so if a Yennefer teaser is coming, our guess is that we will see it in a week’s time so stay close to all of Netflix’s social media accounts for The Witcher to be among the first to see it.
As of yet, no release date has been revealed for Season 2 of The Witcher.
Potentially, this could be revealed during a teaser featuring Yennefer. Alternatively, it could also be revealed during the recently announced WitcherCon event that will occur on July 9.
The first season of The Witcher is available for streaming on Netflix.
