There are so many juicy storylines unfolding on the hit soap opera right now, but a new one kicks off next week. Plus, a couple of secrets come dangerously close to being exposed.
Xander’s plan to help Gwen goes awry
For once, Xander (Paul Telfer) has the best intentions when it comes to helping Gwen (Emily O’Brien) with her Dr. Snyder (Michael Lowry) problem. Xander’s attempt at defending Gwen goes seriously wrong, and the evil doc ends up dead.
The Days of our Lives summer preview video showed a dead body discovered. Well, all signs point to that being Dr. Snyder.
Gwen and Xander grow closer after their Dr. Snyder ordeal, with sparks flying between this unlikely duo.
Jake gets played
Poor Jake (Brandon Barash) continues to get played by Kate (Lauren Koslow) and her clingy behavior. Kate relishes in Gabi (Camila Banus) and Jake’s misery. There’s no way Kate’s letting those two get a happy ending.
It looks like Kate’s not the only one plotting against Jake. EJ (Dan Feuerriegel), Tony (Thaao Penghlis), and Chad (Billy Flynn) ban together to oust Jake as CEO of DiMera Enterprises.
Chad knows Kate’s faking her blindness. Fans can expect him to use her secret to help the DiMera brothers’ plan to get rid of Jake.
Taking over DiMera Enterprises isn’t EJ’s only plot. EJ’s determined to find out what Sami (Alison Sweeney) and Lucas (Bryan Dattilo) are hiding. Lucas and Sami struggle to keep their secret, especially now that Marlena (Deidre Hall) is suspicious of them.
Plus, Rafe (Galen Gering) and Lucas bond over their mutual dislike of EJ.
Nicole in the hot seat
Brady (Eric Martsolf) pushes Nicole (Arianne Zucker) to reveal the secret that’s eating her alive.
Thanks to some unsolicited advice from Xander, Nicole looks for leverage against Sami. When Nicole is grilling Lucas for dirt on Sami, she realizes he’s hiding something too.
Speaking of Nicole, she becomes the object of Rafe’s affection in a steamy dream that leaves the cop shook. After all, Rafe’s happily dating Ava (Tamara Braun) and Nicole’s married.
Other Salem tidbits include Lani (Sal Stowers) receiving some shocking news from Paulina (Jackée Harry). Plus, Philip (Jay Kenneth Johnson) cooks up a surprise for Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin), but she can’t get Brady off her mind.
