After losing Jesse Lee Soffer in Season 10 (he played Detective Jay Halstead), this is another hit for Chicago P.D. fans to take.

Fans hoping for an Upstead reunion may need to hit social media hard. And maybe a notable fan response could lead to the producers making it happen.

Jesse has never ruled out a Chicago P.D. return, so maybe he would do it to help bring some closure.

Chicago P.D. loses a main character

A report from Variety has shared the news about Tracy’s exit.

Tracy is under contract to appear in Season 11. Work on the new episodes has been delayed by two Hollywood strikes.

The Chicago P.D. cast is still on strike, so filming has not begun for Season 11.

Writers have returned to work, though. Scripts are under construction for when SAG-AFTRA (the actors and actresses) agree to a new deal with the studios.

It is also unclear as to how many episodes Tracy will appear in. Maybe all of Season 11? But when the season concludes, Tracy is moving on to other projects.

Many Chicago P.D. fans react to the news

Chicago P.D. fans have already responded to the news about Tracy’s exit.

Many of those fans are sad that she is leaving but excited to see what Tracy does next.

Questions about Chicago P.D. Season 11

NBC has ordered an entire season of episodes for Chicago P.D. Season 11.

The problem is that the strike may cause the new season to be shortened.

The three One Chicago shows have been postponed indefinitely due to the strikes, but the hope is that production could resume this winter.

A countdown to Tracy’s exit will also likely take place, especially with so much prior notice given.

With another Chicago P.D. cast exit, the show will add new pieces to keep intelligence intact.

Tracy joined the show just as Sophia Bush (Detective Erin Lindsay) was leaving.

Tracy first appeared in Chicago P.D. Season 4 as a recurring character and was bumped to a series regular in Season 5.

Her character wasn’t limited to just P.D. Tracy also played Upton on Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and FBI. The stint on FBI was an intriguing twist that joined the two television universes.
