Survivor veteran Jonathan Penner’s wife, Stacy Title, is suffering through ALS. The topic came up during the latest episode of the show when friend-of-the-family Yul Kwon mentioned it.

During a moment with the camera, Yul spoke at-length about how difficult it was for Jonathan and Stacy. He also discussed it with several other members of the Survivor: Winners at War cast.

Jonathan Penner — who host Jeff Probst, fellow cast members, and many fans call Penner — appeared on three different seasons of the show.

Penner was on Survivor: Cook Islands, Survivor: Micronesia, and Survivor: Philippines. He finished in seventh place on two of those seasons and 15th place on the third.

Yul Kwon got to know Penner during Cook Islands, which was the season that Yul ended up winning. Now, Yul is trying to become the Winners at War champion as well.

How to help the fight against ALS

Below is a post that was shared on Twitter by Survivor last night, with Penner speaking about what is going on and how people can help the fight against ALS.

For readers who don’t know much about ALS (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), it is a disease that causes the death of neurons controlling voluntary muscles. Loss of muscle function can be catastrophic for individuals, underscoring the need for additional research into helping people who do or might suffer from it someday.

ALS is also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, as the former star of the New York Yankees was one of the first people to go through it publicly.

The Twitter post below also provides a link to where people can learn more about the disease and possibly donate to the cause that Jonathan Penner, Stacy Title, and Yul Kwon care so much about.

Jonathan Penner Survivor bio

As we previously mentioned, Penner played the game of Survivor three times. Though he didn’t come close to winning any of his seasons, he definitely resonated with viewers of the show.

Penner was a big threat during each of his seasons, which is why he was eliminated seventh during his third time on the show (Philippines). It would be interesting to see him play the game again, but that may not be in the cards.

As for the current season, Yul Kwon is still going strong, surviving another episode, and taking one step closer to possibly winning Survivor: Winners at War.

Maybe that will give him additional time to mention Jonathan and Stacy and help their cause even more.

Survivor: Winners at War airs Wednesday nights at 8/7c on CBS.
