Sparks flew on Real Housewives of New Jersey this past season between Danielle Staub and Margaret Josephs.

The longtime enemies fought at a boutique, and Margaret dumped a drink on Danielle’s head.

Danielle, not taking that well, responded by violently pulling Margaret’s hair from behind. The force of Danielle’s hair was enough to bring Margaret nearly to the floor, and the two had to be separated by security.

It was a shockingly violent reaction and one that caused great concern for the other housewives.

In fact, Danielle pulled Margaret’s hair so hard that Margaret got whiplash. She needed x-rays, chiropractic treatment, medication, and was even advised to wear a neck brace.

She said the pull was “as bad as having a car accident.”

“I woke up the next day, my head was pounding, I couldn’t move my neck, and when I went to the doctor they said she could’ve snapped my neck she pulled so hard,” Margaret explained.

Danielle stirs up more controversy

The incident caused even more drama when Danielle revealed to Melissa Gorga that Teresa Giudice had encouraged the hair pull.

On the last episode of the season, Melissa brought the issue up to Teresa, who confirmed Danielle’s account, but seemed embarrassed by her actions.

Margaret, of course, was furious.

As a result of the incident, Teresa cut off contact with Danielle.

Danielle said that she regrets the incident, but not in the way you might think.

She said on the RHONJ aftershow, “my only regret is that she [Teresa] had to tell me to do it. It felt good … my only regret is that I didn’t do it sooner. I feel bad that Margaret was even invited that day.”

Danielle seems to be relishing her position as the villain. “All this time, I thought I’d be mortified when I saw it play out. Total opposite.”

Danielle is not a part of the group

Melissa kicked Danielle out of the Jersey Housewives friend group over the incident.

“I really had no choice because she really just was not fitting in with any of us anymore. She really was causing havoc. She was becoming dangerous, quite frankly,” she explained.

Jennifer Aydin and Dolores Catania added that while they wish Danielle the best, they think Melissa’s decision was for the best.

Dolores’ ex-husband Frank and Margaret’s husband Joe agreed that Danielle’s outing was probably for the best, though Frank mentioned that he likes having Danielle around “for entertainment.”

Viewers might also miss the drama that Danielle brought, but Margaret is surely happier without her.
