On the latest episode of Teen Mom OG, Mackenzie McKee is forced to postpone her new career venture due to her father, Brad Douthit’s, health scare.

Mackenzie has recently been offered a job promotion that would require her to relocate to Florida with her three kids, Gannon, Jaxie, and Broncs, whom she shares with on-again off-again husband, Josh McKee.

Brad’s health was worse than anyone expected.

After getting the news that her father needs quadruple bypass surgery, she decides to postpone her move to care for him during his three-month recovery.

McKee visits her sister, Whitney, and their father, Brad, at his house to discuss his recent doctor’s appointment. He has been experiencing chest pains and was shocked to hear he needs surgery after a routine doctor’s appointment.

Mackenzie looks shocked to hear that her father will have surgery that requires his chest bones to be broken and that it will take three months to recover. Her father, Brad, states that he wishes his wife, Mackenzie’s mom, Angie, was still here to tell him what to do.

Whitney agrees that Mackenzie is the best-suited sibling to care for their dad after his surgery. Mackenzie looks a little bit defeated after realizing she’s going to be putting her life dream on hold.

She’s already been through so much, with the recent loss of her mother to cancer, the roller coaster marriage between her and Josh, from whom she’s currently separated, and she revealed in the episode that she is a type 1 diabetic, like her father.

McKee: Moving has ‘rocked my world’

According to Mackenzie’s Instagram post on February 5, “Moving to Florida and out of my small home town has rocked my world and made me realize A LOT!”

Mackenzie posted on Instagram that her dad was having a quadruple bypass on September 17.

She posted again on September 21 that Brad “put us through a scare” and was in the ICU.

On September 26, McKee posted, “Daddy is home safe and we are off to our move to Lakewood ranch Sarasota. Time to grow up.”

As if her life wasn’t complicated enough, Mackenzie has been trying to mend her rocky marriage to Josh, and some believe they’re working on their relationship after social posts recently showed the two together.

On Teen Mom OG

Mackenzie calls Josh and straightforwardly asks him, “Do you want to be married?” to which Josh simply replies, “No.” She hangs up the phone, looking seemingly unaffected.

Later in the episode, Mackenzie’s kids are shown playing outside, while she voices, “At this point, I really don’t know what else I can do to save this marriage.”

Mackenzie’s sister, Whitney, pulls up and sits on the porch to talk with her sister. Mackenzie tells her, “I think the marriage is finally over.” She wonders if Josh is going to serve her with divorce papers.

Whitney asks Mackenzie where she would like to see herself in one year. Mackenzie says she wants the pain and the depression to go away. She talks about her kids seeing her cry in bed sometimes all day and wonders what her mom, Angie, would say if she were still here.

The sisters end their meeting with tears and hugs, comforting each other, with all of the drama happening around them. We’re left wondering how Mackenzie will juggle all the stress in her life.

Teen Mom OG airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on MTV.
