Clare Crawley is no stranger to the Bachelor family.

Fans first met her on Juan Pablo Galavis’ season of The Bachelor, where she made it to the final two. However, he chose to send her home as she was preparing for engagement.

At the time, she was praised for standing up for herself and showing her strong side, something that helped her once again when she pursued love on Bachelor In Paradise and later Winter Games.

Plus, Clare knows the process works because she was previously engaged while filming a Bachelor show.

But fans have mixed reactions to her being the next Bachelorette.

Clare Crawley is hailed as a legend

After Clare was announced as the next Bachelorette yesterday morning on GMA, fans started reacting on Twitter — but not everyone was in the same camp.

The 38-year-old was praised by some for being the first older woman to become The Bachelorette, and many seemed excited about the potential for her to show up younger Instagram influencers.

Several Bachelor Nation stars also came out in support of Clare, including Nick Viall and Ben Higgins. Both thought she was an excellent choice for the next Bachelorette.

One person pointed to the current season of The Bachelor and suggested that Clare may have been picked because Peter Weber’s women were too immature to take on the role. His women have been criticized for being too young to get married and settle down.

The question of age has been a big criticism of the show as of late, with the women cast for Peter’s season in their early 20s. A new dating show for seniors, from the producers of The Bachelor franchise, was just revealed last week.

Not everyone is excited to watch Clare on The Bachelorette

But not everyone is excited to watch Clare as the next Bachelorette. One person highlighted how she has already had several chances to find love on the show and said she doesn’t deserve another opportunity.

Clare has been on several franchises within the Bachelor family, including The Bachelor, Bachelor In Paradise, and Winter Games.

She got engaged to Benoit Beauséjour-Savard on Winter Games, but the two would later end the engagement as neither of them saw marriage as the future.

However, Clare is probably best known for her time on Juan Pablo’s season of The Bachelor and putting him in his place as he broke up with her.

Viewers could also be upset about the choice because Kelsey Weier has been the frontrunner for Bachelorette from Peter’s season. However, she won’t get the chance this time around to find love on the show.

The Bachelor airs Mondays at 8/7c on ABC.
