Chris Lopez and Kailyn Lowry have had their fair share of drama over the last couple of years and much of it has played out on Teen Mom 2.
Kail and Chris share sons Lux, 3, and Creed, 6 months.The couple had their ups and downs throughout their on-again-off-again relationship and have had a difficult time with their co-parenting relationship since splitting up for good.
Chris recently started co-hosting a podcast titled P.T.S.D. – Pressure Talks with Single Dads. He launched the podcast with his co-host Bread, and they discuss different topics about parenting, sports, and their personal lives.
During a recent episode of the podcast, Chris opened up about the ongoing drama with Kail and how difficult it has been for the two of them to see eye to eye. Chris cited different religious beliefs for causing some of their conflicts recently, but he continues to spend time with both Lux and Creed despite all of the drama.
Chris details the drama with Kail
On the podcast (via InTouch), Chris discussed how his religious and spiritual views are vastly different from Kail’s.
He said, “So, in a sense, you know, I’m a spiritual person. You know, I’m not religious, I’m spiritual. I believe in a higher power. The mother of my kids doesn’t really.”
He said that their differing beliefs have been at the center of a lot of their arguments.
He added, “We’re going to have to come to some type of agreement, you know, a respect level. You might not believe in something that I do, so respect that. You feel me?”
Both Chris and Kail have a history of disagreements that have caused legal issues for the both of them.
In January 2020, Chris was arrested for reportedly violating a protective order Kail had filed against him. The two of them eventually made amends a few months later before breaking up again.
Most recently in September, Kail was arrested for allegedly punching Chris several times after they got into an altercation after Chris cut their son Lux’s hair without Kail’s permission.
Chris and Kail’s custody battle
Following Kail’s arrest in September, it was revealed that she petitioned the court for custody of Lux and Creed. Kail was awarded sole custody of the boys despite the pending hearing in Family Court this month.
Chris and Kail were ordered to refrain from discussing all domestic matters until after the upcoming hearing. Chris has continued to spend time with his boys and has shared photos of them on his Instagram page.
It’s unclear whether or not custody will change as a result of Kail’s hearing. Regardless of the results of the hearing, it looks like Kail and Chris still have a lot of issues to work out before they can co-parent peacefully.
