Rob Lowe heads to the spooky Old State Penitentiary in Boise, Idaho, on this week’s episode of The Lowe Files — and meets a psychology expert to explore his inner fears.
The star heads to the former prison, which is famous for carrying out executions by hanging, with son John.
The hangings used to take place in an area which is now a rose garden, with six of the 10 executions that took place at the prison being carried out there.
The Old Idaho State Penitentiary first opened its gates to convicts in 1872 and was a working prison for more than 100 years before being closed in 1973.
During that time more than 13,000 inmates passed through the complex.
During the episode, Rob and John also meet an expert who teaches them about the psychology behind fear.
And they investigate what it is that causes a flip to switch inside us when we get scared and experience complete terror.
The Lowe Files airs Wednesdays at 10/9c on A&E.
