Survivor 41 was supposed to have aired this fall on CBS, but that didn’t end up happening.

There are a number of rumors floating around that in order to get Survivor Season 41 filmed, that the production team may have to move on from Fiji.

Fiji is where all of the recent seasons of the show have been filmed. This was done to cut down on costs and to allow the reality competition series to film seasons back-t0-back.

While the scenery has become pretty recognizable to eagle-eyed viewers, Fiji is still a beautiful location that is fun to watch on television. At the same time, the coronavirus pandemic might just force the cast and crew to try out a new location.

Could Survivor film in the Dominican Republic?

It wasn’t too long ago that fansite Inside Survivor postulated on what might be coming up for the show. The site reported that a source, “told us a couple of weeks ago that the show is looking into the Caribbean as a potential back-up location.”

That would make sense for a number of reasons. The primary reason is that Fiji has been closed off to Americans and especially for filming television shows. That might not change for a while.

Another reason would be that giving the show a new location might shake things up a bit. While that wouldn’t necessarily be the best idea, mostly because they save a lot of money filming in Fiji, it could certainly give CBS something interesting to promote.

Do many viewers really care about the destination?

Quite a few fans of the show have noted that they just want to see a new season of Survivor airing on CBS and that it doesn’t matter where it gets filmed. We tend to agree with that sentiment. It’s been a long time since Winners At War ended.

We love the locations that have been used in the past and have faith that the production crew could make it exciting no matter what country they film the episodes in.

The longer the delay lasts between seasons, the more we just hope that CBS gives the green light to try something new. What they would need is a good bubble, though, to keep people safe. That’s something that Big Brother succeeded with during summer 2020.

For now, we just have to keep looking forward to Survivor 41 taking place at some point, even if we don’t know when it will premiere. The Survivor 41 cast is already set as well, so now they just need a place to film.

What do you think? Would a new location be fun for the show?

Survivor is currently on hiatus at CBS.
