There was a double elimination on The Masked Singer this week, and it meant a tough decision as a very talented singer went home.

After Armadillo was unmasked as Dog the Bounty Hunter, the two remaining contestants were both big-voiced divas in Miss Teddy and Ringmaster.

Either one of them could have made it to the finals and had a realistic chance to win it all.

However, only one could go, and it was Ringmaster.

That meant Miss Teddy had to unmask, and it was Jennifer Holliday.

Here is what you need to know.

Miss Teddy on The Masked Singer

Miss Teddy has been one of the best singers on The Masked Singer this season, and there was a good reason for it.

Jennifer Holliday is a Broadway sensation and is every bit of a superstar.

Thanks to the condensed version of Season 7, where five competitors whittle down to one in just three weeks, there isn’t much time for the guessing game that makes The Masked Singer so fun.

For Miss Teddy, she got three sings to sing in three weeks.

The first week, she sang Tell it to My Heart by Taylor Dayne. In the next week, she sang Tell Me You Love Me by Demi Lovato. Finally, in the third week, she sang Mercy by Duffy.

The clues pointed to Holliday. There was a photo of the Supreme Court Justices, and Holliday was in Dreamgirls as part of the Supremes. Eddie Murphy’s photo was also tied to Dreamgirls.

There was also a Santa Claus, and that tied in with her last name.

Nicole Scherzinger guessed it right with Jennifer Holliday, and guest panelist Leslie Jordan agreed. For Nicole. it was an easy guess since she is a huge fan of Holliday and said she would pretend to be her as a little girl.

Who is Jennifer Holliday on The Masked Singer?

Jennifer Holliday was the first actress to portray Effie Melody White in the musical Dreamgirls on Broadway.  She won a Tony Award for her performance and went on to win two Grammys.

After her unmasking, Jennifer said she went on the show for her fans.

“I believe it was destined to be,” Jennifer said during her unmasking. “From your very first season, my fans have been trying to guess as if it were me. So I think they have kind of brought me here for this. I was thinking about my fans, who have given me so much love and support.

The Masked Singer airs on Wednesday nights at 8/7c on Fox.
