Amazingly, Married at First Sight’s Iris Caldwell and Keith Manley are still not divorced.

Iris recently did a Live Q&A on her Instagram where she told her fans that she and Keith are still technically married.

“We have to wait like a year until the separation and then I can officially file and all that stuff. But nope, [we’re not divorced]!”

Apparently, North Carolina laws don’t allow for quickie divorces, instead requiring a one-year separation period, where the couple must be living apart in separate residences, before filing for a “no-fault” divorce — which is the type they’re trying to get.

In a no-fault divorce, neither spouse is deemed responsible for the downfall of the marriage and it usually ends much more amicably.

Iris was all-in on MAFS

When decision day arrived, Iris was willing to stick it out and continue working on their relationship, but Keith was not on the same page and decided he wanted to part ways.

In November of last year, Iris revealed that the last time she saw Keith was at the Married at First Sight reunion special several months earlier.

Keith’s decision to bow out of the marriage was a quite a shock to Married at First Sight fans because the couple seemed to be getting along well during the show. They rarely fought and they both supported each other in difficult times.

During the reunion special the topic of reconciliation was brought up. Iris said she would be willing to give it another shot if Keith was willing to go to counseling with her, but he told her he didn’t feel there was much hope of the two of them getting back together.

He later admitted he wasn’t ready for a wife, and he truly felt Iris was not ready to be one, either.

Life goes on

Iris seems to be doing well and says that even though it was “difficult moving on” from the marriage, she has “grown tremendously” from the experience.

Another couple bites the dust… at least once that 12-month separation is up.

Married at First Sight airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on Lifetime.

If the marriage was never consummated, why couldn’t it be annulled?

She was 100% responsible for the breakup. She has the maturity of a 12 yr old. We were all telling Keith to run—FAST–away. She pushed a really handsome, great guy away by making such an issue of her virginity it was ridiculous. There were a million things she could have done sensually/sexually to make him interested, but she acted like a stupid, high-maintenance drama queen. Good luck with your life, Iris, you are going to need it.
