For the second half of Season 3 on Paranormal Lockdown, Nick Groff and Katrina Weidman have been spending a great deal of time in jolly old England, including an investigation of the glamorous, but out of commission Park Hotel as the first paranormal team to investigate this location ever.

Unlike some of the crumbling and rundown paranormal hotspots in past episodes of Paranormal Lockdown, Groff and Weidman got to spend their 72 hours among the scarlet-adorned luxury lounges of this restoration project in one of the latest episodes of Paranormal Lockdown UK Tuesday night.

Paranormal Lockdown UK went to explore the site rumored to host socialites and their late-night secret rituals and séances in the heyday of the Park Hotel, but was that really a devilish face in an old photograph?

Leave it to Groff and Weidman to do their best to find out. As you may have guessed, spoilers follow.

When your dream hotel turns out to be a paranormal nightmare

It’s a fair bet that when Groff and Weidman set foot in the bright red lobby of this glam hotel, more than a few fans of Paranormal Lockdown UK probably thought, “I would love to live there.”

Even Weidman commented on how much she has always wondered what it would have been like to be in a place like this and felt she had gone back in time.

Unfortunately, Paranormal Lockdown UK also revealed that anyone moving into this hotel would find that they had a number of uninvited roommates, to put it mildly.

The hotel is the site of a woman who was murdered by her husband, who subsequently hung himself in the hotel tower.

There’s also been another suicide on the premises, when someone hung themselves in the same tower but hung themselves outside the building, dangling on the exterior of the hotel to create quite a gruesome scene.

That’s not even getting into all the possible rituals and séances and whatever else the rich and bored got up to behind these walls. So how many Paranormal Lockdown UK fans still want to live there?

(Yeah, I still want to live there too.)

Weidman and Groff hear paranormal screams and a less than gentlemanly ghost

The Park Hotel proved it didn’t need a whole lot of warm up to get going as one of the first paranormal experiences for Nick and Katrina was possibly the clearest, loudest woman’s scream in the history of paranormal television.

In fact, it was so clear that you almost have to doubt its authenticity as possible contamination from outside. However, Paranormal Lockdown UK fans generally have faith in the duo as one of the more low-key, honest, and thorough paranormal investigating teams out there.

Which is to say, if it had been contamination, Groff and Weidman would have almost certainly ruled that out and debunked it.

Then at least one male entity wasn’t so nice and tried to tell Weidman to shut up, referring to her by a rather nasty name. While she’s not known to provoke or be aggressive, suffice it to say that Weidman pushed back.

Put that ghost in his place, girl! Two snaps!

It’s all in a night’s work for Paranormal Lockdown UK

Another great piece of evidence in this episode is when Groff was going in to wake up Weidman one morning after a long night of investigating.

A door is caught on camera slamming toward him, then closing between the pair. But which was more disturbing — the door activity, or the fact that when Nick called out and opened the door, Katrina was still wrapped up like a sleeping bag burrito?

“So this door slams shut, I’m in there by myself, I’m feeling something is going to attack me, I open the door and what do I see on my camera? Katrina still in her sleeping bag. “

Nick Groff

Oh come on Nick — you’re one of the big boys of the paranormal. You can handle a swinging door on your own, right?

After jokingly berating her for not “coming to his rescue,” Katrina finally got up, but this episode illustrated more than any other that Weidman is not a morning person, so forget any morning yoga this time around, okay?

“I was so tired. I was like, ‘Ghost, do your best, because you’re probably not going to wake me.”

Katrina Weidman

If that’s not a sign of a seasoned paranormal investigator, I don’t know what is.

On the technology front for this episode of Paranormal Lockdown, Groff and Weidman were using one of the many new audio devices or apps that cancel out the white noise of the spirit box and make a creepy reverb sound.

The audio coming through was pretty compelling, giving clear, intelligent responses in sentences or phrases. Even someone who is skeptical of these devices may find their results pretty compelling.

Paranormal Lockdown airs on Tuesdays at 9/8c on Destination America.
