Chicago Med spoilers for Season 5, Episode 8 include what appears to be a life-and-death situation for one of the main characters. The new episode is called Too Close to the Sun and is packed with drama.

There are a lot of storylines that will be covered on Wednesday night, including Maggie breaking protocol to help a friend in need. A social media influencer is also going to let his followers vote on his medical procedures.

What fans will be talking about, though, is a pivotal scene where one of the doctors is discovered in the waiting room. It will lead to some quick action from the rest of the staff as they rush to get the new patient to emergency surgery.

The preview from NBC, shared below, just covers the storyline with the social media influencer.

Chicago Med spoilers: Character suffers violent assault

NBC revealed the synopsis about what is going to take place during Too Close to the Sun, but the site TV Insider has confirmed which Chicago Med cast member is involved. That character is Noah Sexton.

Noah Sexton is played by Roland Buck III on the show and he is the brother of April Sexton (played by Yaya DaCosta). He has been on the show since Season 1, but Noah tends to disappear from the Chicago Med cast for large periods of time.

With the Season 5 casting changes, though, maybe Noah will be around for a while, provided he survives what takes place during the new episode of the show.

Regarding the important scene in question, April is the one alerted to a situation in the waiting room. When she gets there, she discovers that Noah is on the ground. A witness states that he found him on the street like that.

As the doctors begin tending to Noah, it is revealed that he has a lot of trauma to the face and head and that he has suffered some broken ribs. One doctor states that it is consistent with suffering a beating.

The fact that he has to be rushed to an emergency surgery is troubling, but viewers are going to have to tune in to see what happens with Noah Sexton and how exactly he ended up injured so badly.

Chicago Med airs Wednesday nights at 8/7c on NBC.
