The Chicago Med winter premiere is coming up quickly on the NBC schedule and before we know it, the One Chicago return date will have arrived.

It has been a while since the last new episode of Chicago Med aired on NBC. November 18 was when the episode called Those Things Hidden in Plain Sight debuted.

On that episode, a new head of the ED was announced, Dr. Natalie Manning made a stand for her patient that led to repercussions, and Dr. Charles tended to his family.

The season has gotten off to a slow start, with only two episodes airing before the long winter hiatus began. It led to some fan frustrations, but the coronavirus pandemic caused some delays, including a shutdown when positive tests surfaced among crew members.

What is the 2021 Chicago Med return date?

Chicago Med returns to NBC with new episodes beginning on Wednesday, January 6. It will be Season 6, Episode 3 of the show and it is called Do You Know The Way Home.

The network hasn’t revealed a full episode synopsis yet but has hinted on social media that one of the subplots for the episode could involve Crockett Marcel (played by Dominic Rains).

Below is one of those posts:

The post could simply be to increase interest in the return of the show, especially since many fans want to know more about Crockett’s past. We may not find out if that’s really going to happen until we tune in for that January 6 episode.

At the same time, the photo for this article was also revealed as coming from the winter premiere as well, so he is definitely going to be on a screen a bit. It also looks like we are getting teased with Dr. Natalie Manning (Torrey DeVitto) on the edge of that photo.

Who plays Dr. Crockett Marcel on Chicago Med cast?

Actor Dominic Rains joined the show in 2019 during the Season 5 premiere and was brought on board to replace actress Norma Kuhling (who had played Ava Bekker). Her character died after a number of dramatic twists and turns on the show.

Before joining the Chicago Med cast, Dominic Rains had played Kasius on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Dr. Leo Julian on General Hospital and General Hospital: Night Shift, and made cameo appearances on several TV shows and has had small movie parts.

Born in Tehran, Iran, Rains has now become an important part of the Chicago Med cast, with a lot of the backstory of his character still shrouded in mystery on the show.

Chicago Med airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on NBC.
