Jennifer Lopez has turned the tables on an interviewer.
During her appearance on The Today Show on Thursday, Lopez had some fun.
After host Hoda Kotb spent some time asking Lopez questions about her personal life, Kotb held up a People magazine with Lopez on the cover. “You look beautiful on People. Let me just block out this corner,” Kotb said, covering part of the cover, in which there was a story about her own broken engagement.
“Why you trying to block out the corner? You don’t want to talk about your personal stuff? Is that what it is, Hoda?” Lopez laughed, as she grabbed the magazine from the host.
Kotb simply replied, “Touché.”
Lopez wants to protect her relationship with Ben Affleck
Minutes earlier, Kotb was prying into Lopez’s high-profile relationship with Ben Affleck.
The Today host asked Lopez how she reunited with Affleck, to which Lopez replied: “We can talk about that backstage if you really want to know. I think what we learned from the last time is that love, when you are lucky enough to find it, is so sacred and special and you have to hold a little bit of that privately, and that’s what we’ve learned. But we’re very happy, if that’s what you’re wondering about.”
Lopez and Affleck relationship
Affleck and Lopez have had a long and interesting history together. The pair first met in 2001 before becoming engaged in 2002. Their relationship came to an end in 2004.
Lopez had moved on with Marc Anthony and later, Alex Rodriguez.
However, when she and Rodriguez split in April 2021, she rekindled her romance with Affleck.
Lopez recently spoke to People about her relationship with Affleck: “I feel so lucky and happy and proud to be with him. It’s a beautiful love story that we got a second chance. When you find somebody and you really, really love them and you get a second chance at that? That is a really rare, precious, beautiful thing, and we don’t take it for granted.”
