While fans know that this is not the end of this twisting story, this week’s episode added some more controversy to the entire ordeal — this time involving Big Johnny, who is married to the Bella Twins’ mom Kathy Colace.
With Cena and Bella deciding to get married again, and kids finally in the discussion as well, the actual details of the wedding started to get hammered out.
One thing that Total Bellas has shown in great detail is how surprisingly dominating John Cena is when it comes to his and Nikki’s relationship.
Over the course of the series, Cena has proven to be someone who wants to be in control and Nikki is always just following along.
When it came to who would walk Nikki Bella down the aisle for their wedding, Cena made his thoughts clear in a way that sounded like he was making the decision for her — that Brie Bella should walk her sister down the aisle.
Kathy revealed on the episode that she still feels hurt that Brie wanted her father Jon Garcia to walk her down the aisle rather than her. When Nikki then asked Johnny what he thought, he told her that anyone would be honored to walk her down the aisle.
He also said that he would be honored to do it as her stepdad, to which she said “perfect”. But Nikki didn’t mean it in the way that Johnny thought she did.
He started to get excited because he thought she was saying she wanted him to walk her down the aisle, but she did not want that at all. The episode then went through her turmoil as she didn’t want to break it to Johnny.
That led to Nikki Bella making an interesting decision. Nikki said that she was going to walk HERSELF down the aisle, because it was empowering and she didn’t want anyone giving her away.

It was an interesting decision and one that Brie Bella was concerned about — saying it seemed wrong to lose the part of the wedding that involves uniting the two families.
