Cassius Pride is the father of Dwayne Pride (played by Scott Bakula) on the hit CBS show, NCIS: New Orleans. During the fall finale of Season 5, Cassius Pride was killed, leading to the team seeking a bit of revenge when the show returned.
The character has appeared on the show a number of times, but that story arc has likely come to an end. In the latest episode, Dwayne was still blaming himself for the death of his father. When he went to tell his brother, Jimmy, Dwayne received even more blame for his father’s death.
Losing his father is going to be something that sticks with Dwayne for a while on the show, which could also indicate that there are going to be more flashback sequences to come.
Who plays Cassius Pride on NCIS: New Orleans cast?
Actor Stacy Keach has been a member of the NCIS: New Orleans cast as Cassius Pride. Before joining the show, he also appeared on Man with a Plan as Joe and Prison Break as Warden Henry Pope.
Keach has been acting for years. He also appeared in the movies Nebraska, Escape from L.A., Up in Smoke, and The Bourne Legacy. In all, Keach has 211 acting credits on his IMDb page. The veteran actor always seems to bring a nice authenticity to his roles, and he did just that during his time as Cassius Pride.
It will be interesting to see if the remainder of Season 5 shows a different side of the Dwayne Pride character. Though he never really appeared to be that close with this father, it changes things when he his murdered trying to save his son’s life. That may cause Scott Bakula to dig deep into his bag of acting tools.
NCIS: New Orleans airs Tuesday nights at 10/9c on CBS.
