This week on Jay Leno’s Garage Arnold Schwarzenegger is in the garage and is keen to show off his electric G-Wagen.
It’s all about gas, or rather the alternatives to it, on this week’s show and who better to advocate that former Governor or California and the Terminator, Arnold Schwarzenegger. He might be famous for his huge muscles but he wants his footprint on the environment to be small.
Schwarzenegger asked Kreisel to convert the 500 horsepower G-Wagen to electric and they managed to keep the same power but shaved 500kg off the weight. The car is now valued at about $1 million and has a range of around 190 miles. He seems very enthusiastic about the results and tells Jay it is an amazing drive, before the pair head out to put the car through its paces.
Jay also checks out how the military are using hydrogen as a power source and tries out some pretty weird turbine vehicles.
