San Diego Comic-Con has always been a great place to learn The Walking Dead spoilers and this year was no different. One of the most important things we’ve learned from this year’s event is the release date for Season 9 of The Walking Dead, which is coming up quick!
There was almost too much information to unpack in one viewing, but the Season 9 trailer is posted below for enjoyment.
As previously reported on Monsters and Critics, there are a lot of challenges ahead for the characters on The Walking Dead. Rick Grimes will have to answer for sparing the life of Negan in the Season 8 finale, as Maggie still hasn’t come to terms with the murder of her husband, Glenn.
The Season 9 trailer is very ominous in tone while trying to also show that the groups are starting to live among one another. There is a lot of anger and resentment building, though, beginning with Negan from his prison cell and continuing with people residing in the different camps.
Will it all explode during The Walking Dead Season 9? Check out the trailer below and form your own opinion about what might happen next. Can Rick Grimes survive it all?
As for the premiere date for Season 9 of The Walking Dead, fans will get to see their favorite cast of apocalypse survivors again on October 7. It will begin a run of episodes for six straight Sundays, possibly marking the final times that fans get to see Andrew Lincoln (Rick) and Lauren Cohan (Maggie) on the show.
Lincoln has decided to walk away from the program, while Cohan has a new show on a different network. Her current contract runs out after six episodes.
One quote from the video that was a good takeaway was a conversation between Rick and Negan.
“Don’t you ever get tired of acting like you’re in charge?” Rick asks Negan, who then responds, “Do you?”
Who will be in charge after the cast shakeup that is coming in Season 9?
The Walking Dead returns on October 7 with new episodes at 10/9c on AMC.
