Some Days of our Lives fans are wondering who raped Jennifer Horton after it was mentioned on yesterday’s episode. It was brought up during a conversation between Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) and Jack (Matthew Ashford).

This tragic event occurred back in 1990 when Lawrence Alamain came to Salem and began causing problems for Jennifer. But she thought it was a case of mistaken identity, thinking that he was mistaking her for the elusive Katerina, heir to the enormous Von Leuschner fortune.

In spite of this confusion Lawrence and Jennifer were married. Subsequently Lawrence raped her, but Jack was eventually able to rescue her.

Of course Jennifer and Jack have a very convoluted history themselves. These two have been married as well. And Jack has a very checkered past. In fact he raped Kayla (Marth Beth Evans) and this was brought up in a recent discussion between them.

Jack has come and gone from the soap numerous times for numerous reasons. This has left his relationship with Jennifer and his family on shaky ground, but Jennifer and Jack seem destined to be together.

In his last exit, Jack supposedly died saving the life of his daughter Abigail (Kate Mansi). Of course, the rumors of his demise were premature.

Complicating matters in the present day, Jack has amnesia. He was brought back to town by Eve (Kassie DePaiva) as a pawn in order to get back at her rival Jennifer. Eve plans to make Jennifer’s life miserable by keeping Jack all to herself, but for his part Jack is noncommittal.

Jack returned to Salem on New Year’s Eve and understandably everyone was gobsmacked by his appearance. But this is a soap opera and anything can happen!

Which by the way, leads one to wonder: is this actually the real Jack or an imposter?!

Days of our Lives airs weekdays during the day on NBC.
