On The Young and the Restless, things are bleak at the moment for the Ashby family, leaving Y&R fans to wonder, is Cane leaving The Young and the Restless?

Well, it looks that way, but time will tell. We got signs of a departure this week when yesterday Cane (Daniel Goddard) learned that realtor Farrah DuBose (Erika Girardi) had been trying to get a hold of him. Apparently Charlie (Noah Alexander Gerry) was clued in on this leading his twin Mattie (Lexie Stevenson) to wonder if the family would be uprooted.

Why now? Because mom Lily (Christel Khalil) is in prison, and just transferred to a penitentiary that is four hours away. Which would make their visits more inconvenient. As if Mattie chaining herself to a chain link fence in front of the old prison wasn’t inconvenient and awkward!

Cane told the downcast twins that indeed he thinks the family should live closer to Lily. His executive decision did not go over so well. Talking to their dad they agreed that this was a good idea. But among themselves they made it clear that they are not on board with moving.

Cane made it clear that it would be temporary, and he was looking at rentals. Of course it would mean a change of schools. He even mentioned that he may ask for a temporary leave from his job at Chancellor Industries. Hasn’t he heard of telecommuting?

Later the twins informed Uncle Devon (Bryton James) of the bombshell news. Who, by the way, led the campaign to put his sister in jail, but let’s let bygones be bygones!

He is outraged at what he perceives as a desperate decision and confronts Cane. Can digs his heels in, he cannot live without seeing Lily frequently. But the twins are finishing high school, and Devon appears to intend to let them live with him.

Will Cane leave Genoa City and the twins behind?

The Young and the Restless airs weekdays during the day on CBS and in the mornings on PopTV at 9/8c.
