General Hospital fans have watched the bittersweet story of Nina (Michelle Stafford) finding her long-lost daughter Sasha (Sophie Mattsson) unfold over the past few days. The mother-daughter duo is off to a rocky start as Nina keeps pushing Sasha to bond before she’s ready.

But who is Sasha’s father? Dr. Silas Clay (Michael Easton) is her biological dad, unfortunately, he cannot be part of the family reunion even though he and Nina are Sasha’s parents.

That’s because Silas Clay is dead, killed by Nina’s own mother, Madeline Reeves (Donna Mills)!

At first, it looked as if Nina herself may have done the dirty deed. Silas Clay was somewhat demented and at one point he kidnapped baby Avery, the daughter of Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Ava (Maura West).

The dirty cad didn’t speak up when suspicion fell on Nina, who has a sordid history herself. When the news came out and the good doc was murdered, Nina was a likely suspect.

But suspicion soon turned to Madeline for Silas’ murder, as she, too had a most sordid history.

For one thing, she lied to Nina about Sasha being dead, a fact we know now is not true. How could a mother do something so heartless to her daughter? Well, she did, and then piled it on by watching as Nina was accused of the murder.

Silas debuted on GH in May of 2013, and he last appeared onscreen in August of  2015. During that time he racked up an impressive history of unsavory behavior including a penchant for violence. Silas is also the biological father of Kiki Jerome (Hayley Erin).

So maybe it’s best that Silas isn’t around for this already contentious family reunion! This week, Nina made a very bad impression on Sasha by pressuring her to go to Paris with her and putting down her adoptive mother. Way to go, Nina!

After this less than golden introduction, Sasha told Nina that she would have to think about having any further contact with her.

On Wednesday, it appeared that Sasha has had enough of pushy Nina who believes that the young woman stood her up for their planned meeting.

Ironically, Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) runs interference and tells her that she will regret not giving Nina a second chance; the titan should have offered her a million dollars, too!

General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC.
