Rachel Hargrove reflects on Below Deck Season 9 and shares an update on her friendship with Eddie Lucas ahead of the reunion show.

The difference between Rachel on Season 9 versus Rachel on Season 8 was like night and day. Rachel was still filled with her witty one-liners, but she didn’t cause any drama the second time around.

Gone was drunk Rachel wreaking havoc on crew days off. Instead, the chef killed it at her job and sat back, letting other crew members bring on the debauchery.

Rachel Hargrove reflects on Below Deck Season 9

There’s no question Season 9 was plagued with negativity. The fallout of Heather Chase saying the N-word in front of Rayna Lindsey became the season’s focus. Rayna has said her piece about the season, while Heather issued a message to fans as the season comes to a close.

The season ended with Rayna blowing up at Heather and lashing out at Wes in a highly disrespectful manner. Wes addressed the interaction this week on the Gangplank Report podcast.

Rachel has also dished on the season, revealing it was a lot more wonderful than what Below Deck fans saw play out on-screen.

“We actually did have fun. We had games. There was a lot of stuff going on. And it was a lot of things were going on,” she shared on the Escape to Reality podcast. “There was also a lot of camaraderie that went on too.”

The chef also admitted a lot of crew bonding went on behind the scenes.

“I actually loved every single cast member. I loved them. They were hilarious! Every crew member was funny, and they had their own personalities, and they were just them, quintessentially, unadulterated amazing,” Rachel spilled.

Rachel from Below Deck shares an update on Eddie Lucas friendship

Eddie Lucas didn’t have the nicest things to say about Rachel on Below Deck Season 8. Rachel was blindsided by some of his confessionals and confronted him on-screen when Season 9 began.

Although the two buried the hatched and coexisted on Season 9, Rachel has no plans of becoming best friends with the first officer. Rachel gave an update on where she stands with Eddie during her Escape to Reality podcast interview.

“I think that certain people are cut out for leadership roles and have integrity. I mean, have the ability to – you know, address situations properly and say, ‘Hey man, I f**ked up, and I’m sorry. And what can I do to earn your trust back and make sure that you don’t think I’m a slimy, backstabbing POS?’ And I’ll be like, ‘Sweet! Let’s move forward there, kitten!'” Rachel shared.

The chef admitted that she accepted Eddie’s apology because of Captain Lee Rosbach. Rachel didn’t want to add any stress to the stud of the sea.

Rachel Hargrove basically tolerated Eddie Lucas to create a more positive and amicable work environment. This hot topic will no doubt be addressed at the Below Deck Season 9 reunions show. It will be interesting to see what Eddie has to say on the subject.

Below Deck airs Mondays at 8/7c on Bravo.
