July 2015 in Philadelphia and 22-year-old mother Stephanie was found dead in her house by her fiancé, she’d been shot. What shocked investigators was that Stephanie was shot execution style in front of her two-year-old daughter, who remained unharmed. Neigbors told police that they heard a single shot and even tried to pursue the suspected killer, though he managed to evade them. CCTV footage showed a man running from the scene but the case soon went cold, until more CCTV was aired on a crime show. The clip showed a man wearing a distinctive backpack walking down the street and multiple people identified the same man, from his backpack, build and the way he walked.
28-year-old homeless man James Jones was charged with murder and robbery.
