My 600-lb Life’s Lisa on weight-loss journey after finding maggots in folds of her skin

Bedridden in the bed where her mother died, Lisa tells us how she got to 704-lb

Meet Lisa from tonight’s My 600-lb Life on TLC — who tops the scales at over 700-lb, but got a huge wake-up call and decided she needed to reduce her weight after finding maggots in the folds of her skin.

Lisa, by all accounts, had a seemingly normal childhood that was punctuated by a doting father and brothers who loved her very much.

But in her words, it was her own mother who withheld any verbal expression of love. Instead, she made Lisa anything and everything she wanted to eat — to the point it caused a rift in Lisa’s parent’s marriage.

By age nine, Lisa’s parents divorced, and her mother still provided Lisa with food constantly. Her own brother recalls Lisa liked “to eat everything” and Lisa admits she used food as a calming, comforting device to soothe her feelings.

This extremely unhealthy relationship with food was a direct result of a different kind of child abuse, one of being spoiled constantly with food.

Already the weight of an adult male by the age of 15, Lisa made matters worse by becoming a teen mom, giving birth to the first of her four children.

Each pregnancy packed on even more weight and then…cut to thirty years later, Lisa is now bedridden because of her weight.

It was the disgusting discovery of live maggots in the folds of her skin that set her in motion to rectify her out-of-control eating.

Now with all of her children and grandchildren, Lisa fears she will end up just like her mother — who died in the very same bed that is now serving as a prison of sorts for Lisa.

Dr. Younan Nowzaradan meets Lisaon My 600-lb Life when she tops the scales at a staggering 704lbs. But will he be able to help her lose weight?

My 600-lb Life airs on Wednesdays at 8/7c on TLC.
