Love wins on the most recent episode of Married at First Sight. Heading into this week, it wasn’t clear if Tristan Thompson would want to remain married to Mia Bally after learning that she lied about why she was arrested.
Mia and Tristan are proof that “what doesn’t kill us, makes us stronger” and in their case, whatever kept them from Cancun, brought them closer. Though the teasers tried to make it look like Tristan was ready to walk, it turns out he wasn’t.
After learning that Mia lied to Tristan, the newlyweds were brought back in front of the relationship experts and separated so they could talk about what was going on. Mia spoke to Dr. Jessica while Tristan sat down with Pastor Cal.
Instead, Tristan admitted that he does love Mia and as long as she keeps it real with him from this point forward, then he wants to continue being together. This is a big deal and even Dave Flaherty, Tristan’s fellow MAFS husband, said that he didn’t think he’d want to stick around for all that drama.
Tristan also revealed that Mia told him she was falling in love with him. This is a huge step for Mia, who held off on all things physical on her wedding day, her wedding night and for several days after.
Both Mia and Tristan said that while they wished the arrest and all the drama that followed hadn’t happened, it really did test how committed they both were to each other and to the process. A trip to Cancun would have been fun but the pair who didn’t even kiss on their wedding day is probably the closest of the Married at First Sight Season 7 couples.
Mia even admitted that the couple had been intimate when asked about what went on behind closed doors. She said that she might not feel as strongly about Tristan had they not gone through the ordeal together.
There’s still no telling if Mia and Tristan will choose to stay together once Season 7 of Married at First Sight ends but for now, they are stronger than ever. Did we mention all this happened within their first week of marriage?
