Leah Remini Scientology Special will air tonight and features an interview with the actress as she talks about her involvement with the controversial organisation.

On November 29th the actress’ eight-part docuseries Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath will premiere on A&E and promises to expose deeply damaging abuse and harassment many victims say they have been subject to.

Remini left the Church of Scientology back in July 2013 but claims to have been repeatedly harassed by church members since that time.

Even whilst she was filming the series the actress was followed by a private investigator she believes was hired by the church.

Her sister also alleges that scientologists bothered her contonuiously when Leah first left the organisation. Calling her every single day and even calling her teenage daughter, forcing her to threaten legal action.

Remini’s book Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology was released back in November 2015 and the star is keen to shed further light on its activities.

In a statement she said: “For too long, this multi-billion-dollar organization bullied victims and journalists to prevent the truth being told. It is my hope that we shed light on information that makes the world aware of what is really going on.”

The church, dubbed a cult by critics, has denied any involvement in cases of alleged harassment.

However, neither do they have much good to say about Remini. In a statement posted on their official news site they say rather than being keen ot leave she was actually desperate to stay. Being on the verge of being thrown out for being unable to the stick to the “high level of ethics and decency” required by the organisation.

They also say she is now “joined at the hip” with a collection of deadbeats, admitted liars and wife beaters.

The church goes on to say that: “Ms. Remini also continues her obnoxious efforts to harass the leader of the Church of Scientology and his wife.”
