Will & Grace will be welcoming Jon Cryer tonight when he guest stars as himself. He will be brought in to replace Jack (Sean Hayes) after things go awry between him and Karen (Megan Mullally).

Will this go completely wrong or will it be the best thing that could have happened between the friends?

Viewers will recognize Jon Cryer from his iconic role as Alan Harper on Two and a Half Men. His banter with Charlie Sheen on the show was widely adored.

Cryer remained on the show following Sheen’s firing opposite Ashton Kutcher. Despite the change, the show last four more seasons.

Jon Cryer won two Emmys for his portrayal as Alan Harper. He is the only actor to have appeared in every single episode of Two and a Half Men during its run from 2003 to 2015. This show was the big break he had been searching for and in 2011, Cryer received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Over the years he has appeared on various television shows including Mom, NCIS, The Ranch, and Robot Chicken. Prior to Two and a Half Men, Jon Cryer had several one-offs but nothing stuck. He did end up doing one season of The Famous Teddy Z back in 1989 and one season of Partners back in 1995.

Now, Jon Cryer will join his friends on Will & Grace as himself. Viewers are anticipating the banter as he navigates the friendship of Karen and Jack when he steps into the role that wasn’t supposed to be his.

Will & Grace airs Thursday nights at 9/8c on NBC.
