Andrew Lincoln, the actor who plays Rick Grimes, has decided that he wants to move on to other projects. It was revealed a while ago, that his character will now get written out of the show. In fact, the countdown has already begun to his final appearance on the AMC program.

After nine years as the main character of The Walking Dead, Andrew Lincoln decided that he’s had enough dealing with walkers on a weekly basis. It has forced the writers to scramble in regard to his storylines, with Lincoln already filming his final scenes for the program.

The death of Rick Grimes is imminent
Before the six episodes of the show are concluded this fall, the death of Rick Grimes will take place on The Walking Dead. There are a lot of TWD rumors about how he will die, but it may be a while before anyone confirms what is about to take place.
Along with that storyline, Maggie Greene, played by Lauren Cohan, will also be leaving the main storylines of the show.
No matter how it happens, Rick is leaving The Walking Dead during Season 9. Make sure to tune in to new episodes each week, especially with the news that some cast members from the past will return in some fashion. That includes Hershel, who was played by the late actor Scott Wilson.
