Each season on NBC, Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago P.D. goes on a winter hiatus. A lot of times, NBC viewers are unclear about the return dates for when the first new episodes of the new year will take place.
But on Wednesday night, NBC gave the One Chicago fans some definite answers. This news is great for fans of this trio of shows. It also softened the blow of having to deal with the fall finales so early this year.
One Chicago return dates on NBC
The good news began following the fall finale of Chicago Med. NBC not only presented what is going to take place during the first episode of 2020, but the network let viewers know when it is going to take place.

The Chicago Med return date takes place on Wednesday, January 8. It all begins at 8/7c that night, followed by the first new episodes of Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D. It’s going to be an exciting evening.
The One Chicago shows definitely ended with a series of cliffhangers on Wednesday night. We will avoid broadcasting too many spoilers for people who haven’t watched them yet, but Chicago Med ended with quite a few story arcs unsettled.

Chicago Fire also followed suit, leaving a lot up in the air and for viewers to think about over the winter months. The reappearance of Gabby Dawson was a big deal, with actress Monica Raymund dropping by to visit the memorial for Otis and stir up some feeling in Casey (Jesse Spencer) again.
We also didn’t forget about Chicago P.D., which put the life of Detective Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer) at risk due to who he had been helping out. Yep. He went there again. And yes, he paid the price — again.
The three exciting fall finales won’t provide closure until January 8 finally rolls around. There will be plenty of time to rewatch the fall episodes in preparation for that all taking place.
Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago P.D. each air Wednesday nights beginning at 8/7c on NBC.
